Enjoy the summer as it fades into fall. In August the Berkshires begin to show some color changes: there's less green and more muted colors.Connect with nature and express your heart through the act of painting with watercolor and pastel.
If you have never painted, or are returning to it after some time, you are invited to come and express your artist's soul! Through the experience of yoga, dancing, conscious breathing and relaxation, you can release any resistance you have to painting, for whatever reason: fear, doubt or internal negative voices.
Program overview
- Ground yourself! In our Kripalu program room you can store your art supplies, gather for daily for art instruction and practice yoga, pranayama (yoga breathing) and relaxation. The lovely grounds present inspiring scenes to paint as well as tranquil paths to wander and trails to hike
- Paint on location! You will experience the immediacy of painting "on location" at a horse farm dotted with red barns and multicolored horses.Paint at Pleasant Valley Audubon society, amid the sounds of bull-frogs and birds.
- Practice mindfulness such as conscious breathing, yoga and relaxation.
- Learn the basics of watercolor and pastel painting, including different strokes, color mixing and assorted techniques.
- Watch daily painting demonstrations by Linda. See a brief pastel demo by Linda.
- Receive individual instruction and consultations with Linda when needed.
